* Energy policy rarely takes center stage in a presidential race, but this year, with high gasoline prices, voters seem to be paying attention. Both President Bush and Sen. John Kerry are touting long-term plans to cut dependence on foreign oil and develop new sources of energy at home.
We need to get off of oil as a primary source of energy as soon as possible. If it means taking baby steps, and using cars that are hybrid electric and use
ethanol, or if we need to go straight to hydrogen fuel cells, it just makes sense.
We are polluting the air we breath and the water we drink, and sending trillions of our dollars out of the country to people who despise us.
Seems like a bad idea.
